I live in Sandbach and am married to Simon and have two fantastic boys James (11 ) who attends Holmes Chapel High School and Alexander (8) who attends Smallwood Primary School. Prior to having the children I worked in Advertising as a Media Executive and Manager full time for a number of years and also at MMU Students Union part time after having James. We moved to Sandbach in 2001 and I soon discovered that children are great for getting to meet people. I was on the committee at James’ pre-school at Sandbach Heath (I couldn’t get him in at Wesley ) and then after he started school at Offley I was Vice-Chair on the PTA for a number of years and volunteered to help out as a parent once a week, whilst Alex was at Wesley Avenue. I then decided I liked working with children and wanted to take it further so after Alex had started school I enrolled at Macclesfield College and did a two year NVQ3 in Early Years and Education 0-8. I did placements at both Offley Infant School and Wesley Avenue. I originally attended as a parent for 18 months then as a student for 2 years then I covered for Jane until Christmas and officially got the job in January which it why it seems like I’ve been hanging around for quite a while. I really enjoy working with pre-school aged children as they have such an enthusiastic and fun outlook on life. It is such a rich and rewarding environment for both the staff and the children and I think that comes across from the smiles on our faces at the end of the sessions, as usually we are having far too much fun at work! |
