I originate from the Midlands, being born and brought up in Nottingham. I started my working life at Boots Pharmaceuticals in the medical and scientific division as a research information officer then diversified to incorporate cosmetics and toiletries. I finally left after 17 years to have a baby and moved almost immediately to Sandbach as my husband had a relocation package.
Not knowing a soul, I jumped at the chance to run a Mums and Tots group before deciding to embark in the childcare profession. I’m beginning to feel like one of the fixtures and fittings as I’ve been at Wesley Avenue since 1998 and as the supervisor for the past 19 months.
Dave and I have been happily married for over 30 years, having dated since our high school days! We have just the one son, Richard, who is now at Sandbach School studying for his GCSEs. When we’re not shipping him around, I enjoy finding a quiet corner with a good book, listening to heavy rock music, going on long hikes and eating the great food cooked by the other half! (My culinary skills are abysmal!)
I’m proud to lead such a professional team of staff at Wesley Avenue and feel that with the support and encouragement from our parents, the playgroup will continue to thrive and provide an excellent learning environment for all our children.
Qualifications: 2 ‘A’ levels, Diploma in Pre-School Practice Level 3, Special educational Needs Module; committee member of the Congleton branch Pre-School Learning Alliance (which is a leading charity specialising in early years). |
