THE
CURRICULUM
The planned curriculum conforms to government guidelines set out in
the ‘Foundation Stage’ and ‘Birth To Three Matters’ and supports the
critical early years of a child’s development, when key learning
skills such as listening, speaking, concentration, working together
and co-operation evolve. The planning incorporates the six
areas of learning:
Personal , social & emotional
Communication, language & literacy
Problem solving, reasoning & numeracy
Knowledge & understanding of the world
Physical development
Creative development
Activities are designed to be fun, first and foremost, but all
include opportunities to assess progress via ‘stepping stones’ which
increase in complexity and culminate in the ‘Early Learning Goals’
at the end of the child’s school reception year.
Each individual child’s progress is continually observed, assessed
and recorded.
All children have personal work books where their work is held and
celebrated as a chronicle of their progress. |
